Michael P. Carroll, 39, of Independence, Iowa died Sunday night, August 7, 2011 at the Buchanan County Health Center Independence, Iowa.

Michael was born on October 10, 1971, in Eldora, Iowa the son of Paul and Michele (Greenwood) Carroll. He attended the St. John’s Catholic School and graduated from Independence High school in 1990. After graduating he attended the University of Northern Iowa, and worked for several years at the Monona Wire Co. in Monona, Iowa.

He is survived by his mother Michele Carroll of Independence, and a sister Maureen (Dave) Swan of Big Lake, MN

He was preceded in death by his father Paul J. Carroll.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Independence, IA. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. till 12 Noon Saturday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, IA. where a rosary will be recited at 9 A.M. Saturday. Burial will be in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Independence, Iowa.
