BRANDON - Frances M. Williams, 96, of Brandon, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab Center, Vinton, of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 17, 1912, in Rowley, daughter of Peter and Anna Schleeter Thedens. She married Frank D. Williams on April 4, 1936. He preceded her in death Aug. 24, 1969.

She managed the Urbana Savings Bank in Brandon, retiring in 1969.

Survived by: a son, Scott (Pat) of Waverly; a daughter, Molly Chase of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ida Meythaler of Independence.

Preceded in death by: five brothers; and three sisters.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Brandon United Methodist Church, with burial in Brandon Cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at La Porte City Funeral Service, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the church or the Brandon Historical Society.
