DIED - At Janesville, Bremer County, Iowa, April 21, 1868, Miss Clarinda M. Rowen, aged about 45 years.

Miss Rowan was long a resident of McGregor; her character, her social disposition and all the other excellencies which adorn womanhood, brought her the respect of old and of young acquaintances. Her memory will be held sacred in this city so long as recollection of amiability and virtue exists.

Note: She has a gravestone in Oakland cemetery, Bremer co. IA. It is engraved Clarinda Rowen, died 1867. It is adjacent to the gravestone of William Rowan, 1783-1812, Vet of 1812. William may be her father. Because Clarinda's obit was published in 1868, the year of death on her gravestone is not correct.
