LUCILE LUPTON

Funeral services for Lucile Lupton, 90. will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14 at Converse Funeral Chapel in Douglas (Wyoming) with Rev. Bill Moore of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Douglas Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Lupton died Nov. 9 at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper.

Alice Lucile Shepard was born May 3, 1907 at Waverly, Iowa, to Elmer John and Alice (Van Wert) Shepard. She was a 10th generation descendant of George Soule of the Mayflower.

She graduated from Waverly High School in 1924 and completed a business degree from Wartburg Normal College in Waverly in 1925.

On June 5, 1926, she married Dwight Samuel Lupton in Marshaltown, Iowa. To this union, three children - Dwight Keith, Gary Clark and Karen Lynne - were born. They lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for 55 years. Dwight was comptroller for Stamats Publishing Company until his retirement. They moved to Douglas in 1981 to be with their son, Clark, and his family.

Mrs. Lupton enjoyed homemaking, reading, sewing and current affairs. She was a member of Saint Paul's Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids and First United Methodist Church in Douglas.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Marylyn Lupton of Tampa, Fla., and Clark and Nancy Lupton of Casper; daughter and son-in-law Karen and Joe Giblin of Champaign, Ill.; brother Delbert Shepard of Poteau, Okla.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dwight on July 30, 1983; brothers Robert and Kenneth Shepard; and sister, Marjorie Whitsell.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kevin Lupton and Mike Giblin, with Tim Fehlauer, Jom Fehlauer, Rick Hollon, and Doug McLaughlin.

Memorials to Wartburg College Scholarship fund, P.O. Box 1003, Waverly, Iowa 50677, or to Shepherd of the Valley Care Center, 60 Magnolia, Casper 82601, would be appreciated by the family.

Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas is in charge of arrangements.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
