Death of a Winnesheiker's Relative.
Thomas Halse, uncle of L. J. Halse, of Bluffton township, died on the 15th inst. at his home in Waverly, aged 86 years and 6 months. Mr. Halse came to America from England in 1856, accompanied by his sister, and together they settled on a farm in Bremer county, living there thirty-eight years. For eight years they have lived In Waverly. Mr. Halse is spoken of by the Independent as successful in business and a good man on general principles.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in the Harlington Cemetery and was born October, 1815.
