Suicide at Waverly.
Frank W. Bates last week Wednesday was found dead in his home. Evidently he had been dead three days. The following letter was found on a stand by his bed:--
Waverly, Iowa, Dec. 3, 1905.
To the Coroner:
I, F. W. Bates, make this statement to make your work easy. I am perfectly sane and not intoxicated. I have taken twenty tablets of morphine to end my life. Mental and physical troubles the cause. I have contemplated this course for some time.
