Spencer Swinton, 42, died at his home at St. Charles, Illinois, Monday, according to notices to the state papers. Spencer will be well-remembered here as a graduate of the Cedar Valley Seminary. He worked at the Mitchell County Press as a young man and received his first training as a linotype operator under the tutelage of the late H.C. Hill.

Mr. Swinton roomed at the Mrs. Clara Gardner home most of the time he was in Osage.

He was born December 4, 1900, at Horton, near Nashua, where his mother, Mrs. Sophie Swinton still resides.

After leaving Osage he worked as a linotype operator at various places and was employed in a printing plant at St. Charles at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife and their two children; his mother; his brother, Wayne, a teacher at Alexandria, Minnesota, and the following half-brothers and sisters: Harry and Fred Swinton of Nashua; Mrs. Rolland Ramsey, of Beloit, Kansas; Walter Swinton, of Long Beach, California; and Bessie Swinton, of Chicago, Illinois.
