WAVERLY--Richard R. "Dick" Walther, 60, of Waverly, died Friday, March 26, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, from complications of lung cancer.

He was born Nov. 30, 1943, in Waverly, son of Russell E. "Skeets" and Norma I. Grover Walther.

Mr. Walther graduated from Waverly High School in 1962, studied at Iowa State University, farmed with his father and then started Walther Lock Service.

Survived by: his mother of Waverly; two brothers, James of Jamul, Calif., and Wayne (Fran) of Overland Park, Kan.; and nieces and a nephew, Lisa, Erica, James and Alyssa, all of Overland Park.

Preceded in death by: his father.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Waverly with burial in Andrews Cemetery; north of Waverly. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m.

Memorials: may be directed to the donor's choice.
