READLYN — Blanche Avis Moeller, 87, of Readlyn, died at home Thursday, Aug. 15.

She was born Dec. 4, 1925, in Waterloo, daughter of Carl and Avis Chapin Thies. On Feb. 6, 1947, she married Erwald Moeller at Zion Lutheran Church, Readlyn. He died May 27, 2003.

Mrs. Moeller graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1943. She and her husband farmed northeast of Readlyn until retiring in 1980. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survived by: a son, Dale (Deb) of Dunkerton; a daughter, Joan (Teri Lampe) Pence of Readlyn; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Henry Thies of Waterloo and Bill (Nannette) Thies of Denver.

Preceded in death by: her parents.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Readlyn, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Readlyn, with family present 5 to 7 p.m.
