SUMNER LADY BURIAL SUNDAY

SUMNER-Funeral services were held Sunday for Mrs. George Muether, 68, who died at her home here late Thursday evening after a long illness. The daughter of August and Wilhemina Marks, she was born February 20, 1881, in Germany and came to America at the age of seven years, settling in the Sumner community.

She married George Muether April 11, 1906. The couple resided near Dunkerton until 1916 when they moved to a farm near Sumner. She was a member of the Salem Evangelical church.

She is survived by her husband; five sons, Willis, Edward and George of Sumner, Alfred and Aaron of Waterloo; three daughters, Marie, Mrs. Ed Austin, San Mateo, Calif., Sylvia, Mrs. Laverne Schnurstein, Shell Rock, and Irene, Mrs. W.J. Oliver, Omaha, Nebr., five grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Minnie Topp, West Union, four brothers, Gustave, Sumner, August, Beaver Bay, Minn., Albert, Davenport, and Will, Little Rock, Ark. One child died in infancy.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 1:30 at the Berg Funeral home, and at Salem Evangelical United Brethren church. Burial was at Gresham cemetery, Dunkerton.
