Sunday, June 3, 1934Marks Funeral to Be Held Monday in Sumner Church

Sumner,Ia.Carl Marks, 69, native of Germany and a resident of America and of Sumner for 42 years, died Friday at his home on Columbia avenue, following a long illness. He was for many years a shoe dealer and a cobbler of this town.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m., at St. John's Lutheran church, with the pastor, Rev. C.J. Mardorf, officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery north of town.
Surviving, besides the widow, are three sons and a daughter; Earl, Gordon, Elda and Robert; six brothers and three sisters; Albert, Davenport; August, Beaver Bay, Minn.; Will, Fort Smith, Ark.; Emil, Wiona, Minn.; Gust, Mrs. Bertha Pagel and Mrs. George Muether, Sumner; Mrs. Minnie Topp, Elgin, Ia.
