Mrs. Hilda Baker

Mrs. Hilda C. Baker, 80, of 221 Sixth St. NE, Waverly, died Wednesday evening, Jan 10, at the Bargels Lutheran Home where she had been a resident for six days. She was a lifelong resident of Bremer County, born on January 3, 1899, the daughter of Dick and Lena Ludemann Kirchoff.She was married to Clarence R. Baker on July 26, 1919 in Waverly. Hilda was a confirmed member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly and was a member of the A.L.C.W. She is survived by one daughter, Lorraine, Mrs. Forrest Steelman of Winnebago, Minn.; three sons, Clele R. Baker of Waverly, Donald R. Baker of Coon Rapids, Minn, and Arlo M. Baker of Waverly; 12 grandchildren, one step-grandchild, seven great-grandchildren, her stepmother, Ada Kirchoff of Eau Claire, Wisc.

Also surviving are nine half-brothers and sisters, Violet Beaver of Minneapolis, Minn, Gilbert Kirchoff, Lawrence Kirchoff, Mrs. Don (Ardis) Cros and Dale Kirchoff, all of Eau Claire, Wis, Mrs. Norman (Edna) Pagenkopf of Cadott, Wis, Mrs. William (Dorothy) McQueen of Minneapolis, Minn, and Mrs. Marvin (Arlene) Saheim and Verlyn Kirchoff, both of Eau Claire, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 13, 1:30 pm at the Kaiser-Corson Chapel in Waverly with Rev. David A. Solberg of St. Paul's Lutheran church officiating. Burial will be in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly.

Visitation will be from noon Friday until service time and friends are invited to a family gathering from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm Friday evening at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home. The Baker family suggests that memorials be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
