Earl C. Moore is prominently connected with industrial interests of Iowa as manager of a large beet sugar factory in Waverly and is considered an authority on this subject. He was born in Johnstown, New York, July 11, 1868, and is a son of Henry and Jennie (Case) Moore, also natives of that city and both representatives of old colonial families.

Earl C. Moore spent his early boyhood in Johnstown, acquiring his education in the public schools. In 1885 he went to Green Bay, Wisconsin, and there became a clerk in a hardware store, holding this position for a number of years. In 1903 he came to Waverly and engaged in the hardware business in this city until 1906. Mr. Moore is considered an authority on the cultivation, making and shipping of beet sugar and is an able writer on the subject.

On the 1st of June, 1899, Mr. Moore married Miss Mary Resch, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, a daughter of Mitchell Resch, of that city, and both are well known in Waverly. Mr. Moore is an energetic and capable man of business and has done much for Waverly and for Bremer county in the development of its manufacturing interests. He holds the esteem and confidence of all who are associated with him.
