Rev. Gustave Krumm, rector of St Paul's Evangelical church of Denver, was born in the Ostseeprovinzen, Germany, in 1861. He acquired his education in Switzerland, graduating in 1890 from the Missionary Seminary at Basel. In the same year he was ordained to the ministry and took charge of a congregation. Shortly afterward he was sent as a missionary to southern Russia, where he had charge of a congregation for eight years, during which time he traveled over many sections of the country. In 1898 he came to America with his family and settled in southern Illinois, where he took charge of a congregation, remaining there until 1903. He then came to Bremer county as rector of St. Paul's German Evangelical church and he still continues in charge, presiding over a congregation of seventy members.

In 1891, in Switzerland, Mr. Krumm was united in marriage to Miss Emile Looser, a native of Switzerland, and they have become the parents of four children: Anna, who was born in 1892; Gustave J., born in 1894; Hulda, 1896; and Oscar, 1901. Mr. Krumm is a man of superior attainments, most earnest and consecrated in his work, which has carried him forward into important relations with religious interests here. He hold the high regard and esteem of his parishioners and of the people of Bremer county, his honorable and upright life having won for him an extensive circle of friends.
