L.W. Tietje is engaged in the cultivation of one hundred and twenty-five acres of the old Tietje homestead and by his practical and progressive methods has gained a place among the substantial and representative agriculturists of this vicinity. He was born on the farm, a portion of which he now occupies, on the 8th of June, 1889, and is a son of William and Louisa (Zell) Tieje, of whom further mention is made elsewhere in this work.
L.W. Tietje acquired his education in the parochial and district schools of Sumner township and has never left the homestead of one hundred and twenty-five acres, [which] he has since operated. He has been very successful in the conduct of his interests, following always the most practical and progressive methods and neglecting nothing that would add to the appearance or value of the place.
Mr. Tietje married Miss Martha Reick, a native of Bremer county, and they have become the parents of a daughter, Martha. Mr. Teitje is a member of St John's Evangelical Lutheran church.
Although still a young man, he has already proven his energy, enterprise and integrity, and these qualities will undoubtedly carry him forward into still more important relations with agricultural interests.
