Macella Prine, 73, died January 16, 2006 at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Funeral services were held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Boone. Burial was at the Boone Memorial Gardens in Boone with military honors.

Marcella was born on March 3, 1932 in Waterloo, IA the daughter of Melvin and Alta Lavon (Clemens) Craun. She graduated from Sumner High School in Sumner in 1949. She served with the United States Army during the Korean War and was a clerk typist. On September 1, 1962, she married James Prine in Des Moines. Marcella worked for John Deere in Ankeny from 1957 to 1986. She was head cashier in the accounting department. She retired in 1986. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity's Willing Workers, and the V.F.W. She enjoyed crafts especially quilting, attending Bluegrass Festivals, and in earlier years, was a member of the Boone County Women's Bowling League.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; and a son, Terry. Marcella is survived by two sons, James (Rhonda) Prine and Ted Prine all of Des Moines; one daughter, Janice (David) Queener of Ankeny; two brothers, Alvin (Arlene) Craun of Toledo, IA and Donald (Joyce) Craun of Pilot Mound; three sisters, Barbara Ann (James) Cory of Pleasant Hill, Sandra (Robert) Burdick of St. Joseph, MO, and Shirley Dillon of Boone; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Central Iowa-Boone Office.

Shroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone is in charge of arrangments.
