Arthur Luther
A death, which was inadvertently overlooked last week, was that of Arthur Luther, a former well-known resident of this county, who passed away at his home in Sioux City, Iowa, Saturday evening, May 9. 1908, as a result of an injury received some time ago while unloading a (railroad) car. He had been living in Sioux City two years where he was engaged in teaming. The remains were brought to Boone, arriving here Wednesday morning, May 13th, and laid to rest in the Boone cemetery near Luther
He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Newton Luther, well-known pioneer residents of the county. In 1888, he was united in marriage with Julia, a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Tyler Boone of Worth township who with three children survive to mourn his death. The oldest son was employed in a packing house in Sioux City. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Mae Boone of Luther (Iowa), who has charge of the telephone switch board at that place, and a number of other relatives over the county.
