Life Sketch:
Ida Hull was the daughter of Jackson and Mary Hull, pioneers of southern Boone County, Iowa, now deceased. . . . She was born on the Hull homestead on January 6, 1868. Her death occurred on September 7, 1938, at the age of 70 years, 7 months, and 28 days. In the parental home, she grew to womanhood, attending the schools of her community, taking an active part in the church work carried on for so many years by the little congregation at Meadow Grove. She concluded her educational studies with normal training and then taught school for several years in Garden and Worth townships. On November 15, 1893, she was united in marriage to Porter H. Zenor a resident of the same community. To them were born six children: Paul, Jack, Helen, Edith, Kathryn, and Hugh.
About 1910, the family established their home on a farm south and west of Luther in Douglas Township, where Mr. and Mrs. Zenor have since lived until ill health forced them to their childrens' homes. Faith, kindliness and patience dominated Mrs. Zenor's character.
She is survived by her husband, three children, Jack of Madrid, Mrs. Kathryn Birdsall of Ankeny, and Hugh of Ellenburg, Washington; a brother, Frank who resides on the old Hull place west of Luther, six grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. The Hull cemetery where her remains were laid to rest was, at one time, a part of the Hull homestead. In almost a stone's throw of where she had lived and labored and loved, as the trees were casting their longest shadows from the rays of the evening sun, she was lowered to her last and final sleep.
