Funeral services: Augustana Lutheran Church, March 30, 1942; 3:30 p.m.
Soloists: Mrs. Ernest Alsin & Drexel Peterson
accompanied by Miss Kathryn Anderson
Minister: Rev. Ruben Spong
Casket bearers: Carl Nelson, Ralph Jacobson, Fred Carlson, Anthony Riker, Ernest Bowman & Fred Gildea.
Life Sketch:
Anna Fredrika Peterson, daughter of Johan A. Peterson & Sophia Johnson, was born April 25, 1870 in Komstad Säfsjö, Sweden and died at her home six miles southeast of Boone, Iowa, Friday evening, March 27, 1942 at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 2 days. . .
Life Sketch: She became a member of the Lutheran church in Sweden at the time of her confirmation, April 6, 1884. She received her education and grew to womanhood in her mother country. In 1893, she came with her uncle Malcolm Johnson, to America to make her home at Oneida Ill., and a few years later, March 4, 1897, she was united in marriage to K. W. Blomgren of Altona, Ill. To this union, six children came to bless the home: Floyd Eugene, Lloyd Wilburt, Gladys LaVine, Clara Fern, Carl Forrest, and an infant son, who died when but three days old. In 1906, Mr. & Mrs. Blomgren came to Iowa . . . They settled on the farm on which they have lived for the past 36 years. . .
Those left to mourn her passing are her husband and three children, Mrs. Clara F. Hull of Madrid; Lloyd W. and Carl Forrest of Boone; six grandchildren: Lorraine, Robert, Marian, and Donald, children of Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Blomgren and Chester & Darwin, sons of Mr. & Mrs. Forrest Blomgren; one sister, Mrs. Esther Anderson of Woodhull, Ill., and two brothers, August Pettersson of Sweden and Oscar Peterson of Superior, Wis., other relatives and a host of friends. Three children, one brother and her parents preceded her in death.
Relatives attending the services from out of town were: Oscar Peterson & Mrs. Bernard (Astrid) Wesely from Superior, Wis., Mrs. Esther Anderson, Woodhull, Ill., Mr. & Mrs. G. A. Nelson, Altona, Ill., Frank Nelson, Moline, Ill., Miss Ethel Nelson, Galesburg, Ill., Elmer Nelson, Stanhope, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Johanson, Marshalltown, and Mrs. & Mrs. George Nelson of Madrid.
