SKETCH OF MRS. WILLIAMS-WAS A

HALF CENTURY RESIDENT OF IOWA

INTERMENT AT ELK RAPIDS

Caroline Underhill was born in Indiana October 17, 1836 and died March 22, 1911 at her home in Fraser. The shock of her son's death on March 17, seemed to be more than her frail body could stand, she being 74 years, 5 months, and 5 days of age. While not a member of any church, she held to the Universalist faith.

She came to Iowa about 1850 and was married to Alfred E Williams April 15, 1852. To this union were born five children: Margaret E., who died at the age of four years; Mrs Alfred Young, who dies November 16, 1903; Daniel Henry, who died March 17, 1911; Mrs George Hull, who now residses in Boone; and Callie, who resides in Fraser and who has taken care of her mother since the death of her father in 1894. She was a resident of Boone County from the time she came to Iowa with the exception of a few years they resided in Dallas County. She leaves to mourn her death besides her two daughters, thirteen grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, and an brother at Mound City, Kansas and many friends and relatives.
