"Israel BEAVER was born in Union county, Pa., November 21, 1825 and died at his late home at Panther, Iowa, Sunday morning, April 23, 1899. A widow, four sons, a daughter and a host of friends are in sorrow because of his departure. He had lived in Dallas county 29 years, and that period of consistent, upright, and honorable living has endeared him to all in the large circle of his influence and acquaintance. For many years he had been a faithful and devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and under the auspices of that church he was laid to rest amid a great concourse of people on last Tuesday afternoon. Rev. A.L. CURTS, of Carlisle, Iowa, preached the sermon from the text.

'Let me die the death of the righteous and let my last end be like his.'

He was assisted in the service by Rev. J.P. MORLEY of Dallas Center and Rev. F.T. STEVENSON of Minburn. The sorrowing friends are comforted by the remembrance of his noble character, and by his almost eager willingness to pass out into the future life so full of bright promise, as by faith he looked beyond the range of mortal vision." --The Chief Reporter, April 27, 1899
