C. J. SEAVERT FUNERAL RITES WEDNESDAY, 8TH

Well Known Boone Resident Had Lived Here 51 Years; Burial at Linwood Park

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Central Church of Christ for the late Charles John Seavert, resident of Boone for 51 years, who died July 12th, at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 13 days. Internment was at Linwood Park cemetery.

The Rev. Gaylord M. Couchman, of the Presbyterian church, officiated. His funeral sermon was based on the text, Matt. 13:43, "then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father."

"the Old Rugged Cross," and "Ivory Palaces" were sung by Mrs. Seavert Tesdahl and Mrs. Fred Sandell. Miss Kathryn Anderson was organist. Pallbearers were: Tom Berry, J. L. Kinch, Floyd Ratcliff, Al Gustafson, A. B. Clark and Cope Briley. In charge of floweres were: Mr. and Mrs. William West, Mrs. Francis Brown and Mrs. Arthur White.

Charles John Seavert, the son of John and Louise (Klatt) Seavert, was born July 25, 1859, in Germany. Besides working at other occupations in earlier years, Mr. Seavert had been employed by the Chicago and Northwestern railroad.

He had lived in Aurelia, Iowa, thence moving to Boon e, Iowa, where he made his home for 51 years. On January 19, 1881, he was united in marriage to Caroline Michels, in Lockport, Ill. To this union were born seven children: five sons and two daughters. His parents and one daughter, Minnie Rafferty, preceded him in death. Mr. Seavert was a member of the Railway Carmen and Redman (honorary) fraternal organizations.

He leaves to mourn his passing: One daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Morse, Galva, Iowa; five sons, Fred and Oscar of Galva, Iowa; Walter of Burlington, Kansas, Edward of Cleveland, Ohio; and Glenn of Boone; one sister, Mrs. Mary Otto of Sioux City; six grandchildren; one great grand-child and other relatives and a host of friends.
