RAFFERTY

The funeral services for Homer Rafferty, brief mention of whose death was given last week, were held from the Sacred Heart church at 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning, conducted by Father Saunders and attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends. The music was furnished by the choir. The pall bearers were: James Deering, Linn Frasche, Joe Scanlin, Boycell Linderblood, Harry Wells and Frank Kelley. Many beautiful floral tributes attested the esteem of his many friends. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. Homer Francis Rafferty was born in Lincoln, Neb., Oct. 21, 1891 and died at his home in this city at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, February 3rd., after a lingering illness, in his 18th year. He came with his parents to this city when four years old and has made his home here since. About ten years ago, he suffered a severe attack of rheumatism, which developed into heart trouble and was the cause of his death. About four weeks ago he was taken seriously ill and his family and friends realized that he was in critical condition, but were not expecting his death so soon and it came as a severe shock to them. Four years ago he was obliged to give up school work on account of ill health, but later he regained his health in a measure and accepted a position as clerk in the Zimbeck grocery store, where he remained for about a year. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Denis Rafferty, two sisters, Mrs. Chas. Tyrrell of Jefferson and Anna at home and one brother, Charles, at home.

(Note: Mrs. Denis Rafferty is Ellen (Fitzgerald, Mr. Chas. Tyrrell is Elizabeth (Rafferty).)
