FUNERAL MISS HASSTEDT HELD IN HOME, CHURCH

Succumbed Soon After Suffering Stroke. Survived by Her Parents, Other Relatives

Funeral services for the late Miss Anna Hasstedt were held Thursday, July 7, at 2 p.m., at the home in Harrison Township where the pastor of Trinity Lutheran at Boone, the Rev. O. Erbe addressed the family in German.

Many friends and neighbors had gathered at St. Paul's Lutheran, at Mackey, at 2:30. A quartet, Alma Murken, Dorothy Moeller, Martin Michel and Albert Moeller, sang: "Asleep in Jesus" and "Abide With Me," Miss Margaret Lutjen in charge at the organ. The pastor addressed the audience from the text I Thess. 4, 17: "And so shall we ever be with the Lord."

The casket was borne to the grave by George Michel, George Peter, Emil Ahrens, Christ Lutjen, Louis Leininger and Louis Blaess. The many beautiful floral tributes were in charge of Miss Hilda Krug and Mrs. Glen Sayre.

Interment was made at St. Paul's church cemetery.

Confirmed in 1901

Anna Katharina Margaretha Hasstedt, third child of Martin and Mattie Hasstedt, was born April 12, 1887, in Harrison Township, Boone County, Iowa. She attended the schools of that community, joining St. Paul's by rite of confirmation March 31, 1901.

The following years were spent in the parental home where she ministered to the needs of the household and her aged parents.

Parents Survive

Early in the morning of July 4, while at work she was stricken with paralysis which terminated her life soon after. She reached the age of 51 years, 2 months and 22 days. She is survived by her aged parents, Martin and Mattie Hasstedt and two brothers, Charles and Christ Hasstedt of Boone County.

Of a quiet and unassuming character she endeared herself to a large circle of friends. A consecrated Christian woman, she put into practice the faith which was hers. The sympathy of a host of friends and neighbors is extended the bereaved family.
