Mrs. Andrew Ahrens, 80, Rt. 3, Boone, died Saturday, September 9, at the Boone County Hospital. She was born August 12, 1898 in Harrison Township, Boone County, the daughter of John and Katharina (Adix) Murken. She married Andrew Ahrens on Jan. 3, 1920 in Harrison Township.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one grandson and a granddaughter.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew, of Boone, seven sons, Edward, Warren, Lawrence and Raymond, all of Boone, and Jean, Dean and Dale, of Stratford; two daughters, Mrs. Cleo (Iris) Frazier of Boone and Mrs. Gene (Ann) Otte, Clarinda; three brothers, Andrew Murken of Ames, John Murken of Ogden Manor, Herbert Murken of Camby, Minn.; seven sisters, Mrs. John Nell of Boone, Mrs. Art Longhenry of Webster City, Mrs. Lawrence Anderson of Boone, Mrs. Virgil Lindemann of Boone, Mrs. Claude Gray of Des Moines, Mrs. Gail Reynolds of Vista, Calif., and Mrs. Arlo Sturtz of Boone; 29 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Maynard Spitzack officiating. Burial was in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
