Charles Ahrens Funeral Rites

Last rites for Charles Edward Ahrens, infant son of Edward and Annabelle Ahrens, who died after a brief illness on Jan. 21, were held Friday afternoon, Jan. 23. A short prayer service was held in the Schroeder Funeral Home, followed by the services in St. Paul's Lutheran Church north of Boone. The services were in charge of the Rev. H. M. Zagel.

Flowers were in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Murken and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Johnson. A quartet composed of Martin Michel, Berniece Michel, Irmgard Zagel and Leonard Michel sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "I am Jesus' Little Lamb."

Following the services the casket was borne to St. Paul's Cemetery for interment. Four uncles were pallbearers. They were Dale, Deane and Jean Ahrens and Wayne Johnson.

Little Charles did not spend much time on this earth, reaching an age of just a few more days than four months, but that was enough to endear himself to his parents, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Ahrens and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Johnson and other relatives and the people of the community in which he lived.
