Donna Faye Anderson, age 72, of Boone, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Boone County Hospital in Boone.
Donna was born on August 20, 1936 in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of William and Leona Sarah Leichliter (Efkamp). She graduated from Boone High School in 1954. She then attended classes at Des Moines Area Community College in Boone.
Donna was married to Keith James Anderson on June 21, 1980 in Boone.
Donna worked with Culligan Water Conditioning in Boone from 1967 to 1994, she worked in the office, in sales, and then as manager of the Boone store along with overseeing as area manager with the stores in Adel and Marshalltown.
Donna was a member of the Central Christian Church in Boone, where she was baptized on March 28, 1948. She was a lifetime Charter member of the Harley Owners Group, lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association, member of the Motor Maids and American Business Women Association (ABWA). Donna enjoyed making crafts and porcelain dolls. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of area bowling leagues. Donna was very involved with racing, driving and winning many Powder Puff derbies at the Boone Speedway and other area tracks. She rode a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with her husband, Keith and many other friends, going on rides across the country.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Jack, Larry and Ron.
Donna is survived by her husband, Keith J. Anderson of Boone; her daughter, Karla E. Keigley (John) of Ames; her two grandsons, Kyle Keigley and Jason Keigley of Ames, Iowa, her constant companion Pomeranian dog, Punky.
Her body has been cremated. Donna donated her cornea's to the Iowa Lions Eye Bank following her death, and had given one of her kidneys to her brother, Ron.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Central Christian Church, 803 Greene Street in Boone. Rev. Paul Fraser will officiate.
Private Family Burial will be held at a later date in Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.
Visitation with the family present to receive friends will be held at the church on Saturday, from 12:00 p.m. to the time of service at 2:00 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the family, to be used at their discretion.
