Jeffrey A. Heiden, 48, of 1609 Benton Street in Boone, passed away at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines on Thursday evening, March 26, 2009 from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident.
He was born on August 2, 1960 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of Harry and Linda (Dove) Heiden.
On May 19, 1979, he married Paula Buechler at the First Baptist Church in Boone, Iowa.
Jeff was a 1978 graduate of Boone High School. He had been employed since 1994 with the Union Pacific Railroad, and was currently an engineer at the time of his death.
He enjoyed woodworking and photography, but his true passion was riding his motorcycle and taking road trip with his friends. His three dogs; Joey, Max and Moose were his constant companions.
His paternal and maternal grandparents and father-in-law, Ivan Buechler, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Paula of Boone; father Harry Heiden and wife Linda of Punta Gorda, Florida; mother Linda Hansen of Arlington, Texas; brother Brad Heiden and wife Christy of Crowley, Texas; 2 sisters Holly Graves and husband Larry of Omaha, Nebraska and Laurie Heiden of Woodward, Iowa; an uncle Chuck Dove and wife Barb of Waukee; mother-in-law Marilyn Buechler of Boone; 4 sisters-in-law Gloria Birkenholz and husband Wayne of Ankeny, Sandy Schaefer and husband Norb of Lacona, Peggy Fellingham of Boone, and Rhonda Magnuson and husband Mike of Ankeny; nieces and nephews.
Jeff was an organ donor and his gifts through the donor network will anonymously benefit untold numbers of people in medical need.
His body has been cremated.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday morning, April 1st at 10:00 a.m. at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone with Pastor Daniel Solomon officiating.
Interment will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.
A time of sharing with the family present will be held on Wednesday morning at the Chapel from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial may direct their gift to the family for a memorial to be determined at a later date.
