Linda Bustad, age 64, of 521-20th Street, died February 4, 2009, at the Boone County Hospital. Her body has been cremated and a Memorial service will be Monday, February 9, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Phil Webb officiating. Burial will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery.
Linda was born in Des Moines on December 8, 1944, the daughter of Herman and Rose (Moore) Foshe. She graduated from Granger Independent High School in 1962. On April 13, 1963, she married James Bustad in Granger. She worked in Boone for Tim Buckner as a secretary for Principal Financial Group. She was semi-retired. Linda enjoyed dancing, fishing, and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed attending military reunions with her husband Jim, trips to Branson and Lake Okoboji, and preparing holiday dinners.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Jim; a son, Daniel Bustad and wife, Lisa of Wahoo, Nebraska; a daughter, Jennifer Frank and husband, James of Stratford; four grandchildren: Jordan and Jaynie Bustad and Wyatt and Rachel Frank; a brother, Dennis Foshe and wife, Irene of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; and two sisters, Velma Mills of Perry and Darlene Malone of Earlham.
Friends may call on Monday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. to the time of the 10:30 a.m. service.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
