Brian Claude Stoneburner, age 19, of 1469-315th Street in Woodward, died September 25, 2008, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines from injuries due to an accident on Interstate 35 near Story City. Funeral services are Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Open Bible in Boone with Rev. Phil Waldo officiating. Burial will be in the Squire Boone Cemetery.
Brian was born in Des Moines on December 25, 1988, the son of Russell and Debbie (Muench) Stoneburner. He graduated from Woodward Granger High School in 2007. Brian was employed by Iowa Plains Signing in Slater. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and most of all, racing. He loved to race every Saturday night at the Boone Speedway in the Hobby Stock Division. His car number was 57.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Russell Stoneburner and grandparents, Gladys and Claude Stoneburner. He is survived by his mother, Debbie of Woodward; two brothers, Tim Stoneburner and wife Kristin, and B.J. Stoneburner, all of Boone; two sisters, Sheila Stoneburner and companion Tito Martinez of Boone and Ashley Stoneburner of Woodward; girlfriend, Brittany Powers of Boone; grandmother, Shirley Riley of Boone; nieces and nephews; uncles and aunts, Cleo and Jayme Stoneburner, Herald and Mary Jane Stoneburner, Lorretta and John Wolf all of Boone, Delores and Murray Shade of Creston, and Betty and Roger Reynoldson of Pilot Mound.
Friends may call at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Visitation continues Tuesday at the Church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.
