Alice J. Reinertson, age 86, of the Madrid Home in Madrid, formerly of Boone, passed away Monday, October 13, 2008 in Boone at the Boone County Hospital.
Born, February 24, 1922 in Thorp, Wisconsin, daughter of Achille and Jeanne (Morlet) Ampe formerly of Paris, France. She graduated from high school in Loyal, WI. She married Raymond S. Reinertson of Slater, IA. on June 22, 1945 in Neillsville, WI. They farmed in the Kelley and Madrid areas until they moved to Boone in 1960. Alice was a housewife, and also worked various places in the area. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was a lifelong member of the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Boone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two infant children, a son-in-law, five sisters and one brother.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna R. Heslop and husband Mike of Pilot Mound, one sister, Lucille Hohl of Neillsville, WI.; three brothers-in-law, Archie Reinertson of Slater; Darrell Reinertson of Huxley; Arlyn Ewert of Wissota Spings, WI.; four sisters-in-law, Mildred Reinertson of Huxley; Erma Reinertson Ellis of Apple Valley CA.; Minerva Reinertson of Pella; Clara Ampe of Loyal, WI., and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family burial will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Slater, IA.
All memorials will be used at the discretion of the family.
