Funeral services for Charles J. Roadstrom was held March 15, 1963 at 3 p.m. from the Welin Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Robert G. Hurty was in charge of the service. LaVerne Alsin sang "The Lord's Prayer". Pallbearers were Reinhold Josephson, Dr. Oscar Julander, John Munson and J. Harold Peterson. Interment was at Linwood Park Cemetery. Charles J. Roadstrom, son of Peter and Caroline Roadstrom was born at Safnas Sweden on April 4, 1878. He died on March 12, 1963 at Iowa Lutheran Home for the Aged. He had been a quest at the Home since last November. At the time of his death he had attained the age of 84 years, 11 months and 23 days. Mr. Roadstrom came to America with his parents whe a small boy. They settled in the Boone area, living first in the Moingona community and later in the Boone community. Mr. Roadstrom was married to Mathilda Erickson on April 12, 1905 at Boone. The Roadstrom had no children. Mr. Roadstrom was a retired employee of the Chicago North Western Railroad having worked for more than 40 years in the bridge and building department. He was a life long member of the Lutheran Church. He was baptized as an infant and was confirmed in his Christian faith on May 23, 1897. He had been a member of the Gothsemane Church in Moingona and upon dissolution became a member of the Augustana Church in Boone. He was preceded in death by his wife Mathilda. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. James Mudge of Boone and several nieces and nephews.
