Donna Louise Holden, age 70 of Boone, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at the Boone County Hospital in Boone.
Donna was born on December 6, 1937 in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of George E. and Nettie Marie (Kelley) Robertson. She attended school in Boone.
Donna married Kenneth Holden on December 10, 1955 in Long Beach, California. She lived in Boone most of her life, and in California for about 14 years. Donna was a homemaker, she enjoyed playing cards, and board games with her family, and fishing. She was a great cook and enjoyed preparing large family meals during the holidays.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her 2 brothers, Clayton Robertson and Paul Robertson.
Donna is survived by her husband, Kenneth Holden of Boone; her son, Kenneth E. Holden and his wife, Kay of Windsor Heights in Des Moines, Iowa; her daughter, Lori Ann Condon and her husband, Wendall of Enterprise, Alabama; her son, Timothy Dale Holden and his wife, Betsy of Clear Lake, Iowa; her 5 grandchildren, Ryan Condon and his wife, Marilyn, Tiffany (Condon) Vargas and her husband, Rolando, Andrew Condon, Jeremy Holden and Maggie Holden and 3 great grandchildren, Jack Ryan Condon, Jacob Condon and Amiya Vargas; her sister, Karen Rand and her husband, Buzz of Valeria, Iowa; her sister-in-law, Shirley Robertson of Boone, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 8, at the Walter ~ Schroeder Funeral Home at Fifth & Story Streets in Boone. Envoy Tim North will officiate. Burial will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7, at the Walter ~ Schroeder Funeral Home at Fifth & Story Streets in Boone from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Family will be present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation continues Monday at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. to the time of service.
