Viola Marlowe, age 86, of Boone and the Eastern Star Masonic Home, died December 25, 2008, at the Home. Her body has been cremated and a Memorial Service will be Saturday, January 3, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Boone. Friends may call at the Kingdom Hall an hour before the service. Burial of her cremains will be in the Pilot Mound Cemetery in Pilot Mound.
Viola was born in Boone County on March 10, 1922, the daughter of Henry and Nelly (Slaughter) Patterson. She attended school in Pilot Mound. Viola married Leland E. Marlowe in Boone County on March 10, 1940. She was a homemaker. Viola was a member of the Boone Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed traveling, especially seeing the fall foliage. In earlier years, she liked square dancing, playing cards, and camping.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister-in-law, Janice Patterson. Viola is survived by a son, Darrell Marlowe and wife, Joyce of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania; a brother, Marvin Patterson of Boone; and a grandson, Jeremie and wife, Carmen of Walker, Minnesota.
Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall is in charge of arrangements.
