Donna Deal, age 75, of 427 Tama Street, died December 25, 2008, at the Boone County Hospital. Funeral services are Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Phil Webb officiating. Burial will be in the Boone Memorial Gardens.
Donna was born in Madrid, Iowa, on November 4, 1933, the daughter of Harry and Erma (Swan) Steinick. She graduated from Madrid High School in 1951. Donna married Casper Deal in Madrid on January 6, 1952. Donna was a manager in Central Iowa for Tupperware Brands Corporation. She had been associated with Tupperware for over 28 years, and made many special friends along the way. In earlier years, Donna was an aide at the Woodward State Hospital. She was also an excellent seamstress, making gowns, costumes, doing alterations, and making her own clothes. She also liked to bake cookies with her grandchildren, play cards, read, and listen to country music. Donna was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge. She was very active in her church and made prayer shawls. In earlier years, she liked roller skating and square dancing, and was a member of the Squires and Dames Square Dance Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Donna is survived by two sons, Gerald Deal and wife, Jill of Boone and Bradley Deal and wife, Kathy of Schererville, Indiana; a daughter, Sue Lehman of Boone; a brother, LaVerne Steinick of Knoxville; a stepsister, Erva Lu Hutchings of Boone; seven grandchildren: Charlie Deal and wife Crystal, Anthony Deal, Jeffrey Deal, Jennifer Deal, Tracy Lehman and companion Mark Millard and his daughter Kaylie, Betsy Lehman, and Molly Lehman; and 4 great grandchildren: Lucas, Devon, Dusty, and Tory.
Friends may call at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall on Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Visitation continues Tuesday from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel and then at the Church from 12:30 p.m. until the 1:30 p.m. service.
Due to allergies, the family requests no flowers. Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.
