Pauline (Thorngren) Pestotnik was born on Wednesday; April 4, 1923 in Boone; Boone County, Iowa. She was the daughter of: Carl Henry and Clara Marie (Carlson) Thorngren. On Saturday; September 6, 1947, she married Charles A. "Chuck" Pestotnik at the Evangelical Free Church in Boone, Iowa. Pauline graduated from Boone High School and attended John Fletcher College in Oskaloosa; Mahaska County, Iowa. She had been employed in the bookkeeping department at Boone State Bank and Trust in Boone in earlier years. Pauline enjoyed music and loved to play the piano and organ. Pauline and Chuck enjoyed traveling in Europe, making numerous trips to visit relatives. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Boone. Pauline (Thorngren) Pestotnik, age 85, passed away at the Boone County Hospital in Boone, Iowa on Saturday morning; July 26, 2008. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her grandson: Ryan (Ann) Pestotnik of Boone, Iowa. Her three great-grandsons: Seth, Dylan and Joseph Pestotnik all of Boone, Iowa. Her step-grandson: Tim Knapp of Bellingham; Whatcom County, Washington. Her brother: Carl (Bonnie) Thorngren of Boone, Iowa. Her sister: Ruth Thorngren of the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone, Iowa. Her brother-in-law: Dick (Bonnie) Pestotnik of Boone, Iowa. Her sister-in-law: Maxine Hartung of Bettendorf; Scott County, Iowa. Her nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Her parents, her husband: Charles "Chuck" in March of 2008, her son: Mark in August of 1993, her sister: Jane (Dan) Statton and her brother: John (Joyce) Thorngren preceded her in death. May they rest in peace. Visitation will be from: 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 2:00 p.m. that same day at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial may direct their memorial to the Evangelical Free Church in Boone, Iowa.
