Verva (Crannell) Fjelland 1909 - 1982

Verva Crannell Fjelland was born August 2, 1909 near Minburn, Iowa to Ernest and Della Crannell. The family moved to the Madrid community in 1917. She lived in the Madrid area and attended the elementary and high school there, later managing the Farmers Union Store, worked at the York Co. and during the war worked at the Ammunition Plant near Ankeny.
She was united in marriage to Ernest Fjelland of Huxley March 15, 1938. She was a member of the Fjeldberg Lutheran church and the Thanksgiving Circle of Huxley.
She passed away March 4 and funeral services were held at the Fjeldberg church Monday, March 8. Burial was in the Fjeldberg Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Survivors include one brother, LaVerne Crannell of Madrid and three sisters, Mrs. Letha Alleman of Sheldahl, Mrs. Dorothy Jones of Des Moines, and Mrs. Elva Olson of Polk City.
Condon Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
