Earle William Brown, 76, 1279 Marston Ave., died June 3 at Mary Greeley Hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 6 at 1:30 p.m. from Bethesda Lutheran Church. The Revs. Carl F. Schattauer and James P. Ehrlichmann officiated with burial in the Hillsdale Cemetery in Madrid.
Mr. Brown was born Sept. 6, 1901, in the Slater-Sheldahl area. He married Hazel Peterson Sept. 23, 1934, in Madrid. He moved to Ames in 1944. Prior to that Mr. Brown worked at banks in Madrid, Cambridge and Colfax. In Ames he was employed by the First National Bank from 1944 until his retirement. Mr. Brown was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church and was treasurer there for many years. He was a charter member of the Izaak Walton League.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Seiler of 1229 Marston Ave.;one brother, Jack Brown of Madrid; four sisters, Mabel Buche of Slater, Esther Teigen of Jackson, Minn., and Ruth and Beulah Brown, both of Des Moines; and two granddaughters.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife in November 1976 and by a son, Roger, in 1952.
