Bernice Miller, age 61, of 1104-8th Street died Saturday, January 5, 2008, at the Boone County Hospital. Funeral services will be Friday, January 11, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets with Rev. John Swoyer officiating. Burial will be in the Sparks Cemetery in rural Boone.
Bernice was born in Boone, Iowa, on September 13, 1946, the daughter of Wilbur and Velma (McCullough) Post. Bernice married Lyle Miller on April 9, 1966, in Boone. She was a homemaker. Bernice enjoyed ceramics, velvet crafts, electronic games, watching television, especially the Sci-Fi Channel, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle of Boone; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Ron Gregory of Madrid; three grandchildren, Anna, Jessica, and Donovan Gregory; three sisters, Sandy Peterson of Illinois, Nola Feagin of Pine, Colorado, and Virginia Graham of Alabama; two brothers, Marlin Post of Dolph, Arkansas, and Ed Post of Boone; a sister-in-law, Mary Mayfield of Boone; and a brother-in-law, Glen Miller of Boone. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Daniel and an infant daughter, Peggy; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Allen, and a brother-in-law, Gerald Miller.
Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. The family will be present from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Visitation continues Friday from 8:00 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. service. Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.
