Funeral Services for Robert Stumbo 84, 225 W. Veterans Drive Ogden, are Tuesday Nov 8, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Bethel Church South of Boone With Rev D. Ray Hoke officiating.
Mr Stumbo died Friday Nov 4, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
Casket bearers were Brad, Eric and Jeremy Stumbo, Will Van Dijk, Marcos dos Santos, Curtis Stalnaker and Brian Sams.
Jonathan and Jeremy Stumbo and Kim dos Santos were accompanied by Tracy Nation on the Piano.
Robert Stumbo was born June 3, 1921 in Marcy Township in rural Boone County, the son of Edgar and Delpha (Dugan) Stumbo. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Leora Erickson Sept 1, 1941 at Bethel Church.
Robert was employed with Northern Natural Gas as a land surveyor and real property specialist from 1948 to 1984. He was a member of Bethel Church, Gideon's International and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trench digging, playing guitar and singing with his wife at area nursing homes.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Jr. and his wife Lorraine of Ames. Terrance "Terry" and his wife Janet of Staples Minn and Lance "Lanny" and his wife Barbara of Ogden: 10 grandchildren: 14 great-grandchildren;one brother, Milo and his wife Eleanor of Boone; one sister, Vera Myers of Madrid.
He was preceded in death by his parents;his wife, Leora and one brother Paul.
Interment with Military honors performed by the Boone Veterans council was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Schroeder memorial Chapel, sixth and Marshall Streets, Boone was in charge of arrangements.
