Funeral services for Leslie Phipps, 67, Pilot Mount, will be Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003 1:30 p.m. at Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone with Rev. Gary Freel officiating. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mr. Phipps died from injuries due to a farm accident Friday, Nov. 14.

Recorded songs will be "Love Without End, Amen," "Wind Beneath My Wings", and "My Way".
Leslie Phipps was born June 20, 1936 in Boone, the son of Joseph and Jessie (Bailey) Phipps. He graduated from Pilot Mount High School in 1954.

Leslie was employed as a supervisor of freezers and loading dock foreman for Oscar Mayer in Perry for 21 years until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Hunt and Fish Club in Boone and the Masons Mirza Lodge #609 AF and AM of Pilot Mount. Leslie enjoyed woodworking, gardening and collecting and restoring antique cars and tractors.

Survivors include three sons, Leslie George and his wife Jane of Belle Plaine, Minn., William and his wife Heather of Bremerton, Wash.; and Dr. Jerald and his wife Kerrie of Boone; two daughters, Christy DeBilio and her fiance Todd Ballard of Cambridge, and Marta Phipps of Boone; three brothers, Joseph and his wife Etta of Boone, Vern of Pilot Mound and James and his wife Sue of Pilot Mound; one sister, Lois Walters of Boone, and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Interment will be at the Mineral Ridge Cemetery in Ridgeport.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion. The family requests no flowers.

Schroeder Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
