In town notes:

A twelve year old son [ed. note - Harold Barnes] of Theadore Barnes, of Beaver, was taken sick on Sunday last with what proved to be scarlet fever. He rapidly grew worse and on Tuesday Doctors Melott and Clark were called in consultation. They found the boy dangerously sick with but little hopes of recovery.

LATER: - The child died at four o'clock Tuesday afternoon, and was buried under quarantine regulations.
