Marie Wisecup 85, of Ogden manor died of congestive heart failure Saturday Feb 19th,2000 at Boone county Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fisher-Aldrich funeral Home in Waukee with burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Minburn.
Mrs Wisecup was born May 2, 1914 to Owen and Vianna Grady in Boone County. She finished her schooling in Minburn Iowa. Her family moved to Missouri for a short time and then back to Boone county around the Camp Mitigwa area. On Feb 20, 1932 she married Torence Wisecup in Boone County. They moved to Minburn then to Waukee where they farmed for almost 18 years. In 1959 they moved to Clive. She worked as a waitress at Sears,Younkers,Kreskes,and the DesMoines Golf and County Club for 28 years. She also cooked for the Clive Elemetery School. After her husband passed away in 1977,she moved to Waukee for nine years and for the past three years has been a resident at Ogden Manor.
She was preceded in Death by her parents,her husband Torence, two grandsons,Michael and Ronnie, three sisters and two brothers also one great grandchild.
She is survived by two daughters and son in laws. Rosie and Chuck DeBruyn of Newton and Sandi and Stan Oviatt of Woodward, two sons and daughter in laws Larry and Diane Wisecup of Truro and Carroll and Bev Wisecup of DesMoines Iowa. A sister Eva Phipps of Madrid, 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by four sister in laws-Mary Mccoy of Ogden, Jolene Wisecup of Ogden, Darlene and Herman Murken of Boone and Maxine and Gene Nystrom of Hanford California,Two brother in laws Howard and Dorothy Wisecup of Ogden and Kenneth and Helen Wisecup of Boone, and many neices and nephews.
Visitation will be after 4pm today at Fisher-Aldrich Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8.
Memorial may be given to the Marie Wisecup memorial Fund
