Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Madrid.

Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, at Laurel Hill Cemetery, in Des Moines.

He was born the son of George and Bertha Reftdal Eide on February 5, 1912, in Huxley and lived most of his life in the Madrid area. He was self-employed as a farmer and retired from Eide's Farm Drainage a few years ago.

Mr. Eide was a veteran during World War II, serving in the United States Navy. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, the V.F.W. and the Senior Associates of Madrid.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lewis, Art, Austin and John; two sisters, Carrie and Anna; two step-sons, Ronald Moss of Texas and Robert Ballard of Michigan; and one step-grandson, Brad Ballard of Georgia.

Survivors include, his wife, Lorene O. Eide of Madrid; his sister, Helen Fazel of Perry; two sons, Robert Eide of Boone and Ronald Eide of Altoona; two daughters, Betty Lou Mayer of California and Nadine McCoy of Missouri; two step-daughters, Janice Ballard of Michigan and Judy Miller of Florida; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, at Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, where the family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Madrid or the Madrid Home.
