Gloria G. Moorman, 71, 1050 L Avenue, Boone, died at the Boone County Hospital on Wednesday due to heart failure. She was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of William C. and Lorene (Ersing) Greene. She married Vernon A. Moorman on Oct. 20, 1948 at the Methodist Church in Pocahontas.
She was a homemaker. She had worked at several retail stores in Boone. She was a member of the Marion Street United Methodist Church and the Tall Corn Antique Car Club. She enjoyed watching birds, painting, growing flowers and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Bill Greene. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Bruce and his wife Jolene of Boone, Mark and his wife Mary of Estherville, Todd and his wife Kris of Boone. Scott and his wife Susan of Mason City; three daughters, Ronna and her husband Mike O'Brien of Boone, Lynn and her husband Mike Sundall of Huntington, WV, Valerie and her husband Dan Williams of West Plaine, MO; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Greene of Colorado Springs, CO; several brothers- and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone with the Rev. Herbert Foxworthy and Layperson Karen Berg officiating. Visitation services will be held on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone. Visitation continues on Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in the Squire Cemetery, southeast of Boone.
Memorials may be given to the Boone County Hospital or the Marion Street United Methodist Church.
Stark-Welin Funeral Directors in Boone was in charge of arrangements.
