JOHN ARRINGDALE

Funeral services for John Arringdale were held Tuesday, May 29, 1962, at the Welin Chapel in Boone, Iowa, with Charles Macheers, minister officiating. The hymns, "The Glorious Treasure of Service" and "Oh Walk With God" were sung by Mrs. Beth Macheers, accompanied by Mrs. Alice Walden. Flowers were in the care of Mrs. Verna Dickey, Mrs. Frances Smiley, and Mrs. Bernadine Staley.

Pallbearers were Warren Otis, Roy Warden, Verne Schwein, Paris Winters, Herman Buss and Joe Poshusta. Burial was in Linwood Park Cemetery.

John B. Arringdale, eldest son of Wallace B. and Mary Brown Arringdale was born in Kansas on Nov. 1, 1889 and died on May 26, 1962, at the age of 72 years, 6 months, and 25 days.

He was united in marriage to Ida H. Tinkham in 1908 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. To this union were born seven children, three daughters and four sons. They moved to Boone, Iowa, from Omaha, Neb. in March 1913 and have made their home in and around Boone since that time.

In 1919 he went to work in the Otis Lumber yard, and was employed there until 1943. For the past 17 years he was employed as carpenter for Lippert Brothers and Boone Construction Company. He was a member of the carpenter's local No. 315.

Survivors include his wife, Ida; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Helen) Aitchison of Boone and Mrs. Harold (Hazel) Broadie of Gilbert, Ia.; four sons, John Jr. of Boone, Burton M. of Indianapolis, Indiana, Guy D. of Boone and Jerry L. of Marshalltown; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Mrs. Nannie Chadwell, Mrs. O. B. (Alice) Hathaway and Mrs. Ed (Margaret) Ivis, all of Omaha, Mrs. Earl (Mildred) Bentley of Bremerton, Wash., Mrs. Mary Curtis of Roseburg, Ore., Miss Berniece Arringdale of San Francisco and Mrs. Earl (Dorothea) Patterson of Park Ridge, Ill., one brother James Arringdale of Laramie, Wyoming.
