Funeral services for Robert Verne Walker were held at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Boone, Iowa, Monday, July 10, 1967 at 11 a.m. with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. L. Bauer officiating.

Pallbearers were Paul M. Walker, Lyle E. Walker, Arlet Morgan, Donovan D. Wharff, Earl T. Walker and Verle Morgan. On the flower committee were Harriett Wilson and Ruth Jackson.

Burial was at the Sacred Heart Cemetery with the Schroeder Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Robert Verne Walker, son of Robert and Bertha Scott Walker was born in Jefferson Township, Warren County, Iowa, March 18, 1901 and died at the Boone County Hospital, July 7, 1967 at the age of 66 years, 3 months, and 19 days.

He was united in marriage to Mary Harriet Germer at Boone, Iowa, July 24, 1922 and to this union 2 sons and 5 daughters were born.

During his lifetime Mr. Walker had resided in Ogden, Colfax, Marshalltown and Boone, Iowa. He retired from the Iowa State Highway Commission in 1966, after being employed by them for 38 years. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church of Boone, Iowa. His hobbies were fishing and photography.

He was preceded in death by his parents,and a brother and a sister.

Survivors include his widow, Harriett, of Boone; 2 sons, Don of Sault Sante Marie, Mich, and Ted of Boone; 5 daughters, Mrs. Roy (Dorothy) Fullerton of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Dean (Doris) Lee of Boone, Mrs. Donna Arringdale of New Providence, Iowa, Mrs. Joe (Bertha) Arnold of Marshalltown, and Mrs. Morse (Judy) Shirk of Gladbrook, Iowa; 1 brother, Loren Walker of Jefferson; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mary Wharff of Pontiac, Mich; and Mrs. Lana Morgan of Churdan; 31 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
