Zach was born Nov. 11, 1985, the first son of Brian and Rita (Lappe) Ridler. He attended Lil Sprouts Preschool in Woodward from 1990-01 and Assumption Catholic School from kindergarten through eighth grade. He was a Class of 2000 graduate from Assumption School and then he attended Woodward-Granger High School, graduating with the Class of 2004.

He enjoyed working on class projects, spending time with friends, watching television programs Trading Spaces and While You Were Out, viewing Michael Moore movies and collecting retro memorabilia. His family and friends were important to him as their care, visits and prayers helped sustain him through his illness.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arthur Lappe. Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Jacob and Nicholas Ridler; grandparents Mildred (Lappe) Wiediger of Independence, Joy Councilman of Boone and Lloyd Ridler of Osage Beach, Mo.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today (Thursday) at Assumption Catholic Church in Granger, where the family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. A vigil service will begin at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Zachary Grant Ridler Memorial Fund.
