Evelyn P. Paulhamus 1911-2001

Evelyn P. Paulhamus, 90, Boone, died Monday at the Strat ford Nursing and Rehab Center in Stratford from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was born Jan. 4, 1911, the daughter of Herman and Maude (Blake) Buss. She attended school in Boone County, and lived in Boone her entire life. She married Ralph (Jack) Taylor on May 14, 1927. He died in 1961. She married Harry Sundem on Jan. 4, 1969. He died in 1971. She then married Bruce Paulhamus on June 3, 1978.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and was active in her church circles and committees, member of the Magi Chapter No. 139, Order of the Eastern Star, the S.O.O.B. (Social Order of the Beauceant), where she was a past president, member of the Bethphage Shrine No. 17, White Shrine of Jerusalem of Boone, and the Northwestern Women's Club of Boone. Her hobbies were china painting, sewing, crocheting, traveling, and was an avid bridge card player.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ralph; her husband Harry; her husband Bruce; her son, Charles Taylor; three brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Frank Kiphart of Gravette, Ark.; her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Bonnie Taylor of Buena Vista, Colo.; six grandchildren, Kathleen Brown, J. Richard Jordan, Charles Taylor, Amy Howard, Ross Taylor, Paul Taylor; seven great-grandchildren, James Brown, Richard Brown, Beverly Taylor, Noah Taylor, Lena Taylor, Dylan Jordan, Forrest Jordan; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary Jane and William Clark of Clarion, Violet and Leonard Cameron of Roanoke, Va., Delores Sansgaard of Story City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are today at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Boone, with the Rev. Fred Cressman officiating. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's disease Association or the First United Methodist Church.

Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home, 503 Story Street, is in charge of arrangements.
