Ruth Pervier 1923-2001

Ruth Pervier, 74, of 624 9th street, died Wednesday at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames of lung cancer. She was born Aug. 30, 1926, the daughter of Robert O. and Ruth (Kincade) Johnson. She married Harold "Gene" Pervier in Liberty, Mo. on Aug. 10, 1942.

She attended Cline County School in Boone County. She lived most of her life in Boone County. She was a nursing aide for Nursing Services of Iowa, and retired in 1992. She enjoyed the activities of her children and grandchildren and loved helping people.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Wallace; a granddaughter, Jessica Behimer-Hancock; two sisters, Maude Miller, and Selma Burke; two brothers, Orville, and Roland Johnson. She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Linda and Reece Behimer, of Knoxville, Ark., Pam Craven, of Ames, and Trisha Davis, of Des Moines; four sisters, Vera Lindgren, Gladys Lindgren, Lois Miller, all of Ogden, and Mary Laube, and her husband, Ed, of Boone; nine grandchildren, Danelle Chandler, of Fort Smith, Ark., Gigi Jones, and her husband, Dean, of Coal Hill, Ark., Sereniti Haynie, and her husband, Heath, and Katie Behimer, of Knoxville, Ark., Eric Behimer, of Clarksville, Ark., Micah (Spike) Craven, of Minneapolis, Minn., Samuel (Luke) Craven, of Ames, and Shalee Jones and Shauna Davis, of Des Moines; four great-grandchildren, Brody Basinger, of Fort Smith, Ark., Cody Jones, of Coal Hill, Ark., and Jennifer and Heather Hancock, of Fallon, Nev.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Schroeder Memorial Chapel, at 6th and Marshall Streets, with the Rev. Don Stover and Rev. John Wayne Sparks officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral chapel from 8 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden.

Memorials may be given to the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Schroeder Memorial Chapel, 6th and Marshall Streets, was in charge of arrangements.
